Jerry Wayne Williams

October 21, 1947 – July 18, 2016

Jerry Wayne Williams, 68, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away at Reston Hospital Center in Reston, Virginia.

Born October 21, 1947, in Madisonville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Marvin C. Williams and Marguerite Hoskins Williams of Harpers Ferry, WV.

He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970, serving three tours in Vietnam, and was involved in 23 major operations. Jerry received 14 ribbons which included the CAR (Combat Action Ribbon) and three Presidential Unit Citations.

Jerry was a direct down-to-earth man. He absolutely loved and enjoyed every minute he spent with his granddaughters, Rachael and Emily, and his wife, Sherry, his pride and joy for over 43 years.

Jerry was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV and a 1966 graduate of Madisonville High School.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sherry Lathe Williams, at home; son, Timothy David Williams of Harpers Ferry, WV; and two granddaughters, Rachael and Emily Williams of Harpers Ferry.

He was preceded in death by his father, one sister, Linda Jones and one brother, Curtis Williams.
