Lloyd Wesley Scudder

November 7, 1949 – August 31, 2013

Lloyd (known to KSV members affectionately as Shortround) was born Nov. 7, 1949, in Portland, Ore. to Oscar and Doris (McInroth) Scudder and passed away Aug. 19, 2013, in Portland at the age of 63.

He attended school and graduated from Scappoose High School.

He served in the Marine Corps during Vietnam and was permanently injured serving in the line of duty. Lloyd was awarded a Combat Ribbon, Vietnam Service Ribbon, The Purple Heart and two Silver Stars. Lloyd was a member of the local VFW.

Lloyd gave speeches at the Outdoor School Program for many years on “To Never Give Up.” He was an inspiration to many children and adults that he met.

Lloyd also enjoyed hunting, fishing and drawing, but his greatest joy was time spent with family and friends.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Patricia Scudder of Tillamook; two children Jason Scudder and his wife Kara of Tillamook and Sara Ridderbusch and her husband David of Bay City; three brothers, Leon Scudder of Portland, O. D. Scudder of Langley, Wash., and Arthur Scudder of Portland; one sister Ellen Tremble of Goldendale, Wash.; four grandchildren, Katrena Scudder, Jared Scudder, Scott Scudder and Alison Ridderbusch and several nieces and nephews.
