The Khe Sahn (note spelling difference) Veterans, Inc is a Wisconsin registered corporation which was created by Ray Stubbe.  It is a non-stock corporation with a Board of Directors and slate of Officers.  Sometimes called an “Association”by members, it is not that type of entity.  The laws of Wisconsin and the Corporate By-Laws require annual meetings of the members and the election / appointment of Directors and Officers.

We have been using the spelling of the organization as Khe Sanh Veterans for some time, but this is not technically correct.  Resolution will be down the road a bit as there are more pressing issues.

The Board elected to seek and was granted a 501(c)19 Federal tax status based on the fact that at least 75 percent of our members are past or present members of the Armed Forces of the United States.

This designation requires that the organization focus its efforts on assisting veterans and their families, along with a much expanded list of veteran related activities.  The benefit is that the corporation does not pay taxes on the funds it receives within the scope of its permitted activities.

We are NOT a 501(c)3 charity.  Members who pay into the corporation are not permitted to receive a tax deduction for their payments.
