Larry Lee Larsen

January 23, 1944 – July 30, 2026

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Lee Larsen of Riverton, Wyoming, who left this world peacefully with his loving wife by his side. Larry was 82 and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 30, 2026, following a short battle with lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riverton, Wyoming. Military rites will be accorded by the United Marine Corps. In accordance with his wishes, Larry was cremated, and his ashes will be spread by the family at a later date.

Larry was born in Worthington, Minnesota, on January 23, 1944, to Warren and Jennie (Koning) Larsen. Larry was previously married to Elizabeth (Fettig) Larsen, with whom he shared many years. Elizabeth preceded him in death.

On November 21, 2012, Larry married Jackie (Gilmore) Larsen in Greybull, Wyoming. Together they built a loving home, and Larry devoted himself to Jackie with unwavering love and faithfulness, making their marriage a true blessing.

Larry was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed boat and ice fishing, taking great pleasure in catching walleyes. Some of his fondest memories were of fishing trips he took to Canada with his father and brother. He enjoyed training his Labrador retrievers for waterfowl and upland-bird hunting and loved hunting antelope, deer, and moose.

Larry was deeply patriotic and proudly volunteered to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He completed one tour of duty in Vietnam, primarily in Khe Sanh, where he formed lifelong bonds with his fellow Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie (Gilmore) Larsen; his sister, Carol (Floyd) Flemmer; his brother, Jim (Bobbie) Larsen; and his granddaughter, Timarie Javier, whom he lovingly raised. He is also survived by his children Christine Kimbrough, Benjamin (Brandi) Kimbrough, and Nancy Kimbrough. He had numerous nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His great-great-grandson, Kayson Webb, was the apple of his eye.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Eugene Larsen and Jennie (Koning) Larsen; his youngest sister, Jodi (Neil) Baluyt; and his first wife, Elizabeth (Fettig) Larsen.
