KVS News: Short Round 014

KSV 2025 Reunion Recap

From Russ Turner – President
I would like to provide an update for members who were unable to attend the recent Reunion. The event was highly successful, with excellent weather complementing enjoyable company. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the local area, participate in various activities—including a group fishing excursion—and appreciate the favorable conditions, which included plenty of sunshine and no adverse weather events.
The Reunion Committee also took some time

for relaxation by the pool and joined in the Happy Hour, sampling the popular local beverage, the “BushWacker.”
At the General Membership meeting, two new Members At Large, Larry McCartney and George Myrick, were elected to the Board. We extend our gratitude to Neil Kenny for his dedicated service as he concludes his tenure on the Board; it has been a pleasure working alongside him.
Looking ahead, the Reunion Committee will begin planning for our next gathering in San Antonio, Texas, after the new year. The upcoming reunion is scheduled at the Holiday Inn Riverwalk, San Antonio, TX, from September 13 to September 20, 2026. Further details will be provided in due course.
I look forward to seeing everyone at next year’s event.

Recap of 2025 Reunion – Pensacola, FL
The 2025 Reunion in Pensacola, Florida was a successful and well-attended event. Upon our arrival at the Holiday Inn Resort on Pensacola Beach, we were fortunate to experience excellent weather conditions throughout the gathering. I wish to extend my gratitude to Larry LeClaire for his assistance in coordinating logistics.
The hotel staff provided outstanding service and support. Although the planned excursion to view the Blue Angels and enjoy lunch on base was cancelled due to the government shutdown, participants made the most of their time by exploring local attractions and enjoying the beach. Our Saturday banquet hosted 150 individuals, including both veterans and guests. Owing to the size of the banquet room, we utilized an overflow space to accommodate all attendees, ensuring everyone had an enjoyable meal and refreshments.
On Sunday morning, members convened to bid farewell as they prepared for their journeys home, marking the conclusion of another memorable reunion. These gatherings offer valuable opportunities for members to connect, network, and foster relationships within our community. We honor those members who are no longer with us and look forward to building new connections in the future.
We hope you will consider joining us next year.
Sincerely,
Kathy Turner
