KSV News: Short Round 001
Moving Forward
Welcome to your new Khe Sanh Veterans “Short Rounds”. Approximately weekly, we will send you a few paragraphs of interesting information about KSV. And maybe an article or story that we think would interest you.
This will all happen via an email and text service. Please tell all of your friends who have not already done so that they need to go to our new website khesanh.vet and give their permission for us to send them these emails and texts. The sign up is on the opening page.
And even more important, we are launching our khesanh.vet web site. It will be the main communication vehicle between members and the organization.
Moving Forward:
Tom’s passing has left a huge crater in the Khe Sanh Veterans’ operations. For years, he had pretty much been the powerhouse for so much of what KSV did. Russ and Kathy Turner have picked up as much of the workload as they can. But they cannot possibly sustain KSV without a whole bunch of new people helping.
Change #1: Unfortunately, it is unlikely that there will be future Red Clay magazines in the same format that Tom so diligently prepared and published. Too expensive and way too much work to produce.
Change #2: Our legacy website at khesanh.com has been closed. The web master’s family was unwilling or unable to release both the domain name and the website hosting to new operators from within our KSV membership. That was their choice for their personal reasons and we respect it. So, the old web site is shut down.
Change #3: We have created a new and dramatically expanded web site to be found at: khesanh.vet. Please… add this address to your contacts and browser for future use and delete the old. Try it now while it is still under construction.
Change #4: All contacts between KSV and its members will (only) use two new email boxes: admin@khesanh.vet and KSVNews@khesanh.vet. The first will be for you to reach the KSV management team for all questions, issues and feedback. The second will be used to transmit this new weekly newsletter (Short Rounds) to you. In both cases, it is important that you have these addresses in your computer’s email and contacts file / app. If not, our emails to you will bounce. We will be using MailChimp to send both group emails and texts- in both cases you must carefully follow all their registration guide lines being sent separately.
Change #5: There is a separate Facebook page which is independently maintained by a group of KSV users. It is appreciated, but not supported by KSV Management. A significant portion of the best information there has already been transferred to our new web page khesanh.vet. We are hoping that our updated website Message Board will be a great opportunity for members to share thoughts and messages. Try it and send any suggestions for improvements to admin@khesanh.vet.
Our upcoming Pensacola reunion October 12 – 18, 2025 will be a wonderful event to attend. Again, good friends with a common background coming together to celebrate what we have a accomplished and to make a plan for the future. See our Reunion Bunker at khesanh.vet for registration information.
