Captain William Carl Hutsler

Captain William Carl Hutsler (Ret USMC) of Troy, Missouri passed away August 25, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 19, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Milford and Opal (Bockewitz) Hutsler.
On May 3, 1958, he was united in marriage to Wanda Mardella Scaggs who survives. To this union two children were born: Cindy Lynn Spiess of Troy and William “Jeff” Hutsler and wife, Peggy also of Troy. In addition to his children, William is survived by his grandchildren; Matthew Spiess and Chelsea Gonzales (Rueben), Shannon Roentved (Cole), Jeffrey Hutsler (Colleen) and Emily Rapplean (Anthony), seven great grandchildren; Carson, Mason, Jordon, Jaxon, McKinsey, Ellie, and Maddox and one more great grandson on the way, his sister; Audrey Elliott (Ray) of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Marlett.
William proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp from 1950 to 1970 achieving the rank of Captain. After leaving active duty with the Marine Corp, he worked in the insurance industry as a loss control engineer. He was a member of Viet Now. He loved crossword puzzles, reading and most of all he loved spending time with his family.
