Talmadge Thomas Hatcher, Jr

April 30, 1948 – June 15, 2026

WAREHAM – Talmadge Thomas Hatcher, Jr., 78, of Wareham passed away at home on June 15, 2026. He was the husband of Patrice V. (Delorey) Hatcher. They were married for 29 years. He was the son of the late Talmadge Thomas Hatcher and Gladys Mae (Philman) Hatcher.

He was born in Lake City, Florida and lived in Ocala, Florida for several years. He then lived in Plymouth, MA before moving to Wareham 9 years ago. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School and St. Petersburg Junior College.

Mr. Hatcher was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, Charlie Company “The Walking Dead”. He was a machine gunner. While serving in Vietnam, he was wounded on April 16, 1968, on Hill 689. He was in the Battle of Khe Sanh.

He received a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious United Citations (Gallantry Cross Color with Palm and Frame), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge.

Mr. Hatcher owned and operated a chain of T-shirt shops on the west coast of Florida. He then worked as a purchasing agent in advertising specialty and toy manufacturer before retiring.

He as a member of the Disabled American Veterans, 1st Battalion 9th Marines Association, Khe Sanh Veterans.

He enjoyed watching college baseball, especially the Florida Gators.

Survivors include his wife, Patrice V. (Delorey) Hatcher; his brother, William Harold Hatcher and his wife, Cheryl of Ozona, FL; a niece, Ashley Hatcher of FL; a nephew, Jason Hatcher of FL. and great nieces and nephews.
