Jerry D. Edwards

Kent- Jerry D. Edwards, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. He was born on August 11, 1948, in Akron, Ohio.

Jerry was a very proud Vietnam Veteran as a member of the United States Air Force. Jerry spent most of his career as a surveyor and worked for many different companies and

retired from Campbell & Associates. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Kent Garden Club. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Jerry was a devoted Husband, Father, and Papa (Grandfather). He especially enjoyed spending time with and attending his grandsons’ events.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Edwards, and mother, Mary Jane Edwards and sister, Judith Andreotti. He survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Beverly Edwards; sons, Brett Edwards, Brad (Nicole) Edwards and grandsons, Tyler and Brandon Edwards. He is also survived by his brothers, John Edwards, Carl (JoAnne) Edwards, sisters, Cindy (Frank) Lowden, Lisa (Stanley) Widener; stepmother, LaVaughn Edwards as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends. His friend Mike Hostler writes: Jerry told us about Vietnam.  I have never seen him in such a serious mode, but in a nutshell, he went to Khe Sanh and suddenly the 77-day siege happened.  Jerry went from a photographer for the AIR FORCE TO BEING IN ONE OF THE LONGEST, BLOODIEST BATTLES IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND, LET ALONE VIETNAM, to being an acting Marine.
