DAVID ALLEN DOEHRMAN

DAVID ALLEN DOEHRMAN, 69, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Alfred and Opal Doehrman. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1969 as a SCUBA Qualified Reconnaissance Marine. He was a Vietnam veteran, stationed at Khe Sanh Combat Base during Tet Offensive. He received numerous commendations, including the Navy Commendation medal with Combat “V”, Combat Action Ribbon, Two Presidential Unit Citations, the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal.

After being discharged from the military he spent 30 years working in the trucking industry and retired from Centennial Wireless as Director of Reporting / Database Management. He is survived by his wife, Thomacine “Tommie” Doehrman; five children, Michael (Gail) Doehrman, James Doehrman, Michelle (Steve) Bade, RaeLynn Doehrman, and Mark Thayer; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, Susan Parks and one grandson.
