Marvin G. Blackburn

March 23, 1947 — February 5, 2025

Marvin G. Blackburn of Bethel, Ohio died of a broken heart at the Ohio Veterans Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He died at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by Vicki, his wife of 53 years and the love of his life, his father and mother, Obie and Roberta Blackburn, and his infant brother, Wendell.

Marvin leaves behind two daughters, Marla (Jay) Camery, Monica (Thad) Alsup, three grandchildren, Seth (Sonya) Kamphaus, Jackson and Natalie Alsup, great grandchildren, Oakley and Millie Rae, and brother, Daryl Blackburn. He is also survived by many in-laws that loved him dearly.

Marvin is a proud Marine who served in the Vietnam War at the Battle of Khe Sanh. He loved working wood and was an avid music fan. In his retired years he learned to play guitar and would entertain others with his songs.

While he will be missed, his family is so glad that he is reunited with his bride. It’s truly where he longed to be.
