Anthony “Bart” Bartleson

March 16, 1950 – March 1, 2020

“Bart”: C Battery, 1/13, passed away on March 1, 2020.

Anthony was a member of the 105 mm howitzer detachment on Hill 881S during the siege.

Truly Anthony’s life always carried the memories of Hill 881 and … they did have many profound impacts on not just your life itself but how you lived it. I recognized in all of you this desire to get the most of life because you all learned so early in life how hard and fragile life really is. And Anthony lived it that way to his last breath. I always knew in my heart I would have to return him to his brotherhood someday and that I was the lucky girl who got to borrow him from you and the Corps for all these happy years. He taught me not just about battles but about history, respect, honor, dignity, but especially the responsibilities that went along with being a Marine. And I followed the code to make sure he was given all those things back in his last months.
