Paul Angel

February 4, 1945 – May 4, 2017

LCPL Paul E., 72, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on May 4, 2017, at Hospice of Cincinnati, after battling health issues.

Paul was born in Fr. Gordon, GA, to Maynard R. and Lena L. Angel on February 4, 1945.  He attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati and graduated in 1964.   Upon graduation, Paul entered the United States Marine Corps and served 3 years in Vietnam. During this time, he was involved in the Battle of Khe Sanh. He was wounded several times and received a Purple Heart for his injuries. Paul was honorably discharged.

During his time in Vietnam, someone shared his contact information with Susan Reiber. The two began exchanging letters when possible and began dating after his discharge.  In 1969, they got married and settled down in Cincinnati. Paul worked in various manufacturing /production facilities before retiring in 2010.

He enjoyed fishing, various sports and spending time with his family, which included attending many events for both his sons and grandchildren.  Paul never met a stranger and had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone he met.  He will be missed by many.

Paul is survived by his wife Susan, his two sons Timothy (Amy) and Steven (Victoria), his grandchildren Torie and John, brother James, three sisters-in-law, 6 nieces and 7 nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Maynard and his brother, Robert.
