KSV News: Short Round 003
KSV Leadership Team- Help Needed
With Tommy’s passing, all of our leadership team is going to have to carry a heavier load. We have just added several “Managers” to our team of directors and officers. Each of those Managers has a specific responsibility for a portion of the workload. Some have been at it for a while with KSV (thank you!), others our new volunteers (double thank you!!)
Along with other efforts, we are trying to integrate the families of our Fallen into the organization. Basically, all of we old guys are “Dead Men Walking”. The future of the organization lies with the families of our members. This is a three front effort:
– Search the world for the obits of our members on a regular and frequent basis. We have no other way of knowing if we don’t do the research. To include internet, church, newspaper and member reports.
– Using that basic data, prepare a USMC appropriate obituary for our KSV members and web site. Filling in any empty spaces about what our Fallen may have accomplished during his military service.
– Regularly reach out our membership for reports of the passing of members they may know.
Most important, after we have properly reported the passing, we want to reach out to the family and invite them into our group. We can make them honor members and try to involve them in all of our reunions and events. It is a way to allow them to understand what they’re fallen did and how important it was. Without this continuing recruitment of family members, the KSV organization and all it history will fall by the wayside.
